For the owners of this hilltop Brisbane home, integrating their security, access control and home entertainment systems during the building stage was entrusted to Brisbane’s very own Electronic Living, winners of many Australian and International awards for their high-performance smart home systems and expertise in creating homes that virtually think for themselves.
Each smart home system by Electronic Living is meticulously tailored to the specific requirements of each and every client, creating a lasting investment and ensuring that their clients’ homes remain technology relevant in this modern fast paced era of technology.
Electronic Living brought their wealth of expertise to this particular project, handling all facets from design and cabling, product selection right through to installation and custom programming –adhering at all times to the client brieffor a reliable high quality system that iseasy to use and presented a “good value for money” proposition.
Due to the home’s beautiful and contemporary architectural design, aesthetics were an important consideration. Electronic Living were introduced into the project to work in close collaboration with Shaun Lockyer Architects (Architect) and CGH Constructions (Builder) to deliver a solution that is virtually invisible. In keeping with the end goal of highlighting, not impeding, the home’s interior, the team incorporated clever solutions – like the television in the main living area, designed into the joinery detail with a movable sliding panel which allows it to disappear when not in use.
All televisions are 4K compliant, and internet enabled allowing access to all available video sources centrally distributed throughout the home including Apple TV, Blu-ray, Netflix, FTA TV and Foxtel. They also give the family visual connection to the home’s CCTV surveillance system, viewed in high definition via both the televisions and through the iPad App/Cloud control platforms (an Electronic Living signature). A colour video intercom was also provided at the front gate for communication with pedestrian visitors and is linked to two internal wall stations in both the kitchen and rumpus locations which also integrates to mobile devices within the home.
The family also tasked Electronic Living with the installation of discreet audio systems in all living and entertaining areas – seven zones in total, including two surround sound zones and no less than five stereo zones. All the speakers have been flush mounted within the ceilings and carefully matched to the decor, making them almost invisible whilst all being controlled by easy to use iPads.
All equipment is concealed within a dedicated store cupboard adjoining the study which allows convenient access for future expandability and provides a mechanically ventilated thermostat controlled environment helping prolong the life and reliability of the system.
This home is another great example of why dealing with a smart home technology expert like Electronic Living is a must to ensure your home remains ‘connected’ now and into the future, whilst also removing the confusion from the myriad of various iOT (internet of Things) options available on the market today.
This also allows a complete understanding of the host of potential benefits a smart home system offers today’s modern home. A visit to Electronic Living’s showroom is a great place to start, particularly when you are in the planning stages of a new home build or renovation, as they have the largest smart home selection of products on display in a completely interactive home environment, thus making it very easy to determine your individual style and needs. Visits to the showroom are by appointment only.
